Calling of the South

From the Valley down below,

Where the Mountain Music is tossed about,

Through the songs of long ago.

Our roots run long and deep,

Through all the good things that we keep,

Just the simple parts of our everyday,

We share with those we meet.

So, come on let's ride up to the Star,

Walk down to the Diamond in the Square

I’ll show you where the Fiddle & Banjo meet.

We’ll skinny dip in CraigCreek.

And hear the Eagle Rock train pass by.

It’s not New York or Pariee,

Just a simple, southern valley,

Where the mountain air is still so clear,

And at night the stars appear.

Come leave behind your big city lights

Make Love the reason why,

Stand under the Amber Moon with me,

And we’ll give this moon a try!

So, come on let’s ride up to the Star,

I want to kiss you at the top,

Walk down to the Diamond in the Square.

I’ll show you where the Fiddle & Banjo meet.

We’ll skinny dip in CraigCreek.

And hear the Eagle Rock train pass by.

(chorus 2)

It’s the calling of my heart,

Hear it echo all around,

Of this love that I have found.

Listen close, you’ll hear it too,

Whisper, love is true, (and)

My home is here with you!

(slow refrain:) And if you decide to leave me behind__

And Blue Mountains never cross your mind.

What a lovely__ place ___to_Ride up to the star,
